Fungal Identification Service (FunID)

Laragen provides the following services with the FunID service:

• Extract genomic DNA from fungal colony or culture,
• PCR amplify and sequence the first 600 bp of 28S rDNA (D1/D2 region),
• Manually edit the consensus sequences from both strands,
• Identify the unknown fungus using GenBank Databases,
• Align the unknown sequence with the top 10 matches at the species or genus level,
• Construct a phylogenetic tree using a neighbor-joining algorithm.
